Ahh, nostalgia…I had no idea this blog was still running. Over two years since the last post and I still don’t have much to post about that’s of any interest to anyone else!

Though there are very few people left *cough* turboflat4 *cough* who haven’t joined in the fun of GTA IV, it is still neat to see some of these comparison shots from in-game versus the IRL NYC.

I know a few architects around the world are working on designing living spaces to use these over abundant shipping containers, but this is a neat concept as well. These things can be had fairly cheap ($1,500 or so, but possibly more as of late with the rising cost of steel) and this is yet another great idea to recycle. Shipping containers modified to be data centers.

another company that has utilized this trend is Freitag. Their office consists of shipping containers stacked on top of each other. The picture is below, and feel free to read about them and visit their site. Their bags are wonderful.

Um…dunno how I feel about this.
PRESS RELEASE:
New Ferrari California revealed: a hugely versatile, innovation-packed GT
Maranello, May 13th 2008 – The first official photographs have been published of the Ferrari California, the latest addition to the new generation of Ferraris launched in 2004 with the 612 Scaglietti and added to more recently with the 430 Scuderia.
The Ferrari California joins the Prancing Horse’s 8-cylinder family which has always been defined by power and performance. It also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment.

Who knew such a simple design could be so useful! I’ve gotta try one of these. I’m tired of wrapping my earbud cord around my media player just to have them unravel and tangle up in my pocket.
A poster on the OQO Talk forums appears to have turned his Vist-operating OQO e2 UMPC into something capable of running Leopard.
If this is true and it becomes fully functional, it would be very impressive that something of this size can run a full OS X install. It looks to be a little on the slow side, but could it be iPhone 3.0?
Ok so maybe not THE best ever, but if you appreciate life and its existence, this is a pretty thought-provoking movie. Saw this last night with my wife. I read the book a few years back, and they did an outstanding job with the movie. I was actually afraid of watching it, the book was so good. But I would be hard pressed to find many flaws in the movie. So very well done, and really did justice to the amazing story. I would still advise anyone to read the book before the story. It’s a true story and really a great one at that.

Sent this link to my mother, and posting it here as a reminder to myself. Probably will have a little one bouncing around in the next year or so. This has to be the coolest stroller/carseat/thinamajig evar, designed by a couple guys who used to work at IDEO

Neat project. I used to make sterling silver jewelry and some glass work in High school, but this is a whole new cool idea. I might give it a try if I find any time.
Well, Windows is clearly now good for something creative.

Neat site comparing different travel, collapsible chop sticks. Some pretty cool ones.

Great site that has some amazingly beautiful and contemporary furniture and items for babies and young children. Makes me want to have a kid…
From flashlight to SMG and back again.
Oh goodie! Another pile of shit from BMW thanks to Chris Bangle. And I thought he was starting to get better. 1 step forward, 2 steps back, do a fucking dance bitches.

Working in tech, I read a lot of articles written by windbags who are paid off by manufacturers or ad firms or whatever. Woz always seems to speak his mind regardless of who it will impact. I’m always drawn to his articles and interviews.
Here’s a recent one:
Steve Wozniak’s frustrations with iPhone, Apple TV and MacBook Air
Wozniak was in Sydney this morning to deliver the keynote speech at a conference focused on Australian broadband. But his commentary during a press Q&A session ranged far beyond the topics of broadband and telecommunications, with Woz lobbing numerous constructive critiques about Apple’s latest products back over the pond to Cupertino.

Finally all the gadget freaks that pre-paid $1500 NINE months ago will have this little gem in their hands. Hope it’s “spill-proof”…
Nice photo gallery in the article.

Behold, the Oceáno, a collection of urinals for shy men by Roca, placed at descreet angle from each others that foil “peeking”
I have looked for these for a year now, trying to purchase them. Finally a month ago I found an online store that had all four bottles. My friend Ogi is one of the artists, and I have 2 of his signed prints hanging in our bedroom. So i HAD to have these. $45 each shipped from Shoppersvineyard.com
On a side-note, I would absolutely shop with them again. The shipping manager there was fantastic to deal with after their department fucked up and sent me 3 of the wrong bottles the first time. So props to my homey Chip, over there.

The news it out! Bong Vodka just launched a gorgeous artist bottles series in collaboration with some of our favorite artists: Jason Thielke, Yosoh, Matthew Curry and Ogi. The limited edition bottles (and boxes) will be available in stores throughout Florida, Texas, New York, Las Vegas and California at the end of August. Check out the Spirit Of The Brand site to learn more about their unique program– they are constantly searching for artists for new bottle designs, boxes, t-shirts and music compilations.
